NHK Trophy is the only annual figure skating international competition in this country since 1979 and this will be the 30th anniversary event without any interruption for last 3 decades. As the only national TV station in Japan, NHK is involving many sports activities and holding lots of NHK Trophy events for quite a long time, however, this figure skating is the first and the most important international competition whatsoever. |

The Venue locates almost middle of Tokyo besides famous “Jingu Shrine” with full of glory and silence. Approach Street of the shrine “Omotesando” has approximately 1000m length rushing atmospheres of sparkling new mode fashions. |
Asakusa has long thrived as a temple town with Sensoji, at its heart since last 400 years. Nakamise, with almost 90 little shops on both sides of the street, is the ideal place to get Japanese memorable cheap souvenirs. |

This area is divided by the railways in to two parts, the westside is the business and hotel district with skyscrapers, where the official hotel locates; and the east side is the shopping and the world largest nightlife circuit “Kabukicho” full of seedy adult spots. |

Akihabara is the most well-known electric district in the world and you will find hundreds and thousands of computer stores, parts shops, audio store, and home appliance items. The area full of brand new gadgets is the place you never be bored. |

Metropolitan Tokyo is now standing as a candidate of the 2016 Olympics and willing to hold the event after 44 years absence which we all desire. |

Weather & Temperatures |

November weather in Tokyo is very calm and not cold enough to walk with dawn jackets but not warm enough to walk without sweater or regular jackets. No snows in Tokyo these days but shivering in the morning. The average temperature on end of November will be around 10℃(50°F) |

Security |
|
Japan is one of the safest countries in the world, and compare to other major cities, you will feel very much secured even in the middle of downtown in midnight. However, we do recommend keeping off the unquiet area without reasons. Possession of firearms and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. |

Arrival Date |

Organizing Committee officially announce all delegation to arrive at Narita International Airport on November 26, 2008, and official transportation to the hotel will only be provided that date. |

Ground Transportation |
|
Organizing Committee will arrange and cover the expense of ground transportation from Narita Airport to Keio Plaza Hotel for following event participating personnel. OC will provide private bus transportation service but also planning to use public shuttle service operated bound for Keio Plaza Hotel in case of small parties. The ground transportation fee for the non-guaranteed delegations (coaches and chaperons) will be charged 3,000Yen / one way per person in case its arrival date is not on November 26, or on occasion of separate transportation is necessary to be provided. |
